Crazy crazy day on Lk Sammamish on Wednesday. Got on the water about 9, beautiful day, one quick fish in the net and then absolutely nothing for about 4 hours.
We threw the box at them, covered a ton of water and couldn't buy a bite. Weather buoy data said fish should be in the 30-35 foot range. No marks, nothing on the fish finder. Yeah that should be a dead giveaway the fish are shallow which puts them outside the radar cone but it took a while for us to catch on. Duh.
The boat was starting to smell real stinky. Brought the lines up to 15-20 feet, out of desperation, and it was party time. Took about an hour and a half to put 9 more really nice fish in the net. Size ranged from 15-18 inches. Kept a few, lost a half dozen more, C&R the rest.
Pic of the setup is what finally worked. 100-150 drop back, speed 1.75-2.00mph. Marked a hot spot on the map but thats old news. They could be anywhere and thats the fun of Sammamish.
Tight lines
Randy
