Well seems like forever that I have posted a report here partly due to my computer having issues getting signed back in as a member to post one but I'm back! So with my nephew and niece graduating from Ephrata high school this week my wife wanted us to make the trip over the mountains to finally see some family! We left Friday to stay at her sisters in Wenatchee that night and then drive to Ephrata on Saturday.
Well, her husband, Tim Yedinak is a huge fisherman so I just happened to bring along my walleye gear just in case we were able to sneak away to fish Saturday morning.

So Friday night Tim says "we need to go fishing in the morning!" I whole heartedly agreed and we made a plan to leave around 5:30 and head to Connely park on Moses and troll around until about 1 pm then try and beat the girls to the party at 2:00 to stay out of the doghouse! Up at dawn and after having our coffee we were off the lake and in search of some night crawlers as we only had one package. Walmart in Ephrata wasn't open yet at 6:30 so found a gas station in Moses lake that had a stash and got 3 more tubs of fat juice worms!

At the launch by 7 am and we motored right over to where I have had some success on that part of the lake in 12 feet of water and set out the bottom walkers with some hand made spinners with super slow death hooks on the business end! Ran 2 out to the side and 1 straight back and before we could get the second rod in the water the first one plunges down and it's fish on! Got the toothy critter in and into the net with a tape measure of just over 20"! Not a bad start and we thought this was going to be a stellar day!

Well as fishing goes it took awhile before we found another keeper and this one was about 18" and put up quite a fight. We moved down the lake moving between 8' of water out to the middle to 15' and found a small one in about 9 FOW who went back to get bigger. As we worked out way back to where we started as I was letting out my bottom bouncer felt a grab and it was fish on! Pretty cool to have one grab it with rod in hand! This one proved to be a battler actually taking out some line and finally got it in the net and taped out at 22"!

Got a little windy around 12:30 and we really wanted to beat the girls to the party so called it a day and back to the launch we went! Got the Woolridge back on it's trailer and made it the party 5 minutes before the girls showed up! Love it when a plan comes together! All in all a super fun day with my brother in law going 4 for 4 with 3 keepers and great getting back to one of my favorite little spot for eyes!

See you on the water!
