The best laid plans were derailed by the fog bank hanging around the south side of San Juan, so we did not hit the fishing grounds until the afternoon tide. It was quiet, only one other boat in the distance. We had large herring, salmon back straps, and hootchie with herring but between us we could not get a bite. We were a little deeper than my buddy had been in the past couple weeks when he managed to hook into some halibut, we were at about 190'.
Not even a dogfish came out to play by the time we had to head back to catch the ferry. Hopefully we I get another shot, looking at the creel reports catching has improved.
