Just moved here from Toronto area and only a week into checking out the lakes down here. I am a dad and 3 kids and we are all pretty new to fishing, though my dad could have his own fishing show.
Was told that Lake Leland was the best lake near Port Hadlock to fish off shore. For the last three days, we've been dropping our lines in from the shore at Leland and got nothing. Two times were afternoon, once was morning. Nothing. Using worms and bright green PowerBait putty.
Tonight, around 8:00pm, we decided spur of the moment to go for fishing for an hour. Nailed three rainbow trout. Two were a little over 1lb and the third was about 2lbs. Pretty decent catch for an hour of fishing and the kids were thrilled.
We used only worms with bobbers, hooks about 5 feet below the bobber and fished from the little pier that's there.
We finally hit it!
