The last day of a week off from work. No trip to Vancouver Island this year D/T covid but I did get to go on a lot of local fishing adventures thanks to my wife being so understanding!

Today I went out with my friend Robbie, getting a 6am start with lines in the water. We started at the north end of Lake WA running the gear down to 25-45 feet depths. Having learned from the trip a couple days ago we ran Old Goat lures with corn, 1.4 to 1.9 mph. The north end started us off with one nice 13.5" kok but there weren't a ton of meter marks so we pulled up the gear after an hour and headed to the south end of Mercer Island.

The bite was similar to a couple days ago, steady but not red hot. One thing that was different this time was of the 6 fish we encountered only one came on the deep rod, everything else was at 25 feet on the rigger. There were lots of marks in the 40-50 foot range but they were all non-biters today.

The Old Goat tandem spinner again got the job down on all but one fish. When I got home I did a little bead swapping to get some color combinations I like, but that said, out of the box these rigs flat out work. Fish them with confidence. It's not often we get something truly unique and new to use on fish. Old Goats are the real deal.
