Got up to Alder for a nice afternoon/evening fish. Looking for trout, kokanee or possibly crappie. Ended up finding all three! Fishing with the NTO™Scent Spinner 2.0 in white with some hypervis tape and green and red beads and then a black with orange beads. Fish were still shallow. Caught them on the surface rod and around 17 feet on the Downrigger. Trout just slam the scent spinner. None of that tap tap thing, but just hammer down. Made me think they were bigger than they were! Did manage a bonus crappie on the surface line. Went back and forth looking for the school again but was never able to find them. Got a bit breezy toward the end. Did some trolling out in the channel while waiting to come in since the boat ramp was a zoo (social distancing) and caught a nice Kokanee. Felt like I was the frog in frogger when ever I tried crossing the big channels but for the most part the motor sport folks kept healthy distances. If you haven't been out to Alder get up there and give it a go. Great lake and can't wait for the next trip!
