Living in Brewster I always look forward to the summer salmon season on the upper Columbia. A cool June and a quality snowpack has kept the Okanogan running cooler and dirtier later into the summer. This allowed many of the salmon entering the Brewster pool to continue on their journey in the absence of the thermal barrier. However, recent onset of hot weather and arrivals of large numbers of Sockeye have set things in motion and the Sockeye bite has been nothing but phenomenal for the past week.

I have been doing best with Double D dodgers or Luhr Jensen Herring dodgers with a pink hoochie 15" behind it tipped with coon shrimp Fish are running 10-20' deep.
