Well, headed down to Lake Sammamish and started fishing about 8:30 am and fished for 7 hours or so. We once again proved that the number one rule of fishing still stands. "You have to go fishing to catch any fish". It was very poor at the start of the day as we fished from the boat launch to Redmond on the east side of the lake and did not even have a bite. On the troll back on the west side, we finally hooked a couple of cutthroat at about NE 20th. We slid down the lake on the west side and past the sunken forest where we hooked a couple more 12-14"ers. So as we headed back to the boat launch trolling, my partner pulled his rig up to 20 feet and right by Issaquah Creek he caught a beautiful 3 pound rainbow trout that made our day. Five fish in 7 hours of fishing, not great but that rainbow made our day. Biggest one ever caught in my boat at Lake Sammamish. We don't usually get too many rainbows. Beautiful weather, partly cloudy and I was using our trusted Old Goat lures. My partner did catch that rainbow on a needlefish though. Fished at about 30 feet deep most of the day and the water temperature was 72 degrees.
Gray enough day that not too many skiers, etc. were out, so all in all a darn good day to be on the lake.
