Headed out in the morning with a little later start than usual. Got to the rich just after sunrise. Dropped a few crab potsOn the way. Tide was coming in so hein bank was the go to spot. Felt pretty confident with the high liner charter boat out there.

Dropped down a purple haze flasher with a small cookies and cream spoon and the down rigger does something funny. Doesn’t look like a chinook so I sent the other rod for my wife. Still looking weird and must have snagged seaweed. Real it in and it’s a halibut!

Safely released, the hunt continued. No more action there sadly. Tide switched and went over to salmon bank on the west side (East is closed) and got nothing. Went to eagle point and same story. Tough fishing out there. Luckily for the crab pots we had crab salad.

Used mostly spoons out there with a blinky green and white flasher with a green glow spoon. Switched out to coho killer in cookies and cream without success. Stayed away from bait due to fear of dog fish. Better luck next time. Still fun and a great day on the water with an ice cream cone at holiday sports gas station to end the day. I’m
