First cast just before 9. Wanted some topwater action, so started off with a plopper.
Worked several areas on the east side, both in shade and sun without any action at all. Spent about 30-45 mins of trying before I gave up on it.
Went back to the try and proven, dropshot. I think it was the 2nd cast in 15' and fish on! Just a small SMB but a fish is a fish.
Done by a little after 12. Boated 8 SMB and 1 rockbass. 3 of them were in the 2# range, with a couple in the 1# range and rest close to 1#.
I weighed one of the ones that looked like in the 2# range and it was 2.18#. So pretty close guess.
I did lose 3 SMB. One of them jumped and backflipped off. Was maybe 1.5# range. Lost another one that looked close to 2# when I had it at the surface. And then I lost what looked like a high 2 to maybe 3# when I was grabbing the net to scoop. It was definitely the biggest I saw with my eyes today.
All fish caught on dropshot. Depth range from 10' to about 18'. Multiple fish hooked at each spot. I think one of the points I fished at, hooked up with 4.
