What a change a week can make! We fished Loon the week before and it was "lights Out" fishing if you'll pardon the pun. My brother in-law and I got our limit by 10:30 PM in the usual spot and tackle.

I took Dharris, his son and grand son along this time. Got set up and fishing around 8:30. The bite started around 9:00 in 32 feet of water. John had never done this before and he was a quick study and was soon catching the little silver bullets. His son is 6 and managed to get one of the very active kokanee in the boat after his dad handed off the pole to him. I managed to get my first one after many misses; don't I know how to do this? Mean while Dan is just feeding the fish; he's done this before but it was the first time this year and the kokes really put on a class in bait thievery!

9:30 PM Water surface temp 76 degrees, full moon and what a beautiful night! Only one problem the bite stopped. We continued to fish till 9:45 still no fish caught and very few on the sonar. This simply isn't normal. I wonder if the hot days have changed the feeding pattern? We finally moved out into 36' of water (our neighbors did too). Immediately we got the two biggest fish of the night. Wow that's better! Not so fast; that was it. Fished till a little after 11 and gave it up. Ended up with 16 fish for the night; not bad but not great for this fishery. Oh well I'm spoiled and we had a blast anyway. What a nice night to be out on the water in 60 degree temps after the 100 degrees during the week.
