Got out solo to the Arm. I concentrated on finding weed beds; they are not doing very well this year. I had to work at it a bit and it wasn't fast but I managed to catch some quality eyes up in the weeds I did find. A red jig head with a 3" Cabelas watermelon red flake grub produced most of my fish. Makes sense as the ones I cleaned were stuffed with crayfish. Most of my fish were caught in less than 20 FOW. I was ripping my jig through the weeds and most of my hits were as my jig came free. The bites were actually quite subtle; most of the time the eyes just felt a little heavier than the actual weeds. I caught 20 on jigs and caught 4 trolling Colorado bladed worm harnesses. I only seemed to catch fish trolling that were in the deepest part of the river channel; at least the hits were pretty aggressive. Silver and chartreuse/lime green blades worked best.
Out of the 24 I caught only 4 were dinks; less than 16". I could have kept an easy 16 fish limit of 16 " plus fish but didn't need that many fillets. I did catch and release an eye that was somewhere between 21 and 22 "; it was actually pretty thin. All in all a rather nice way to spend a day socially distancing myself.
