I decided to hit up Echo lake with my cousin, we used to live out in Shoreline together and fished this lake back then so it was a very nostalgic fishing trip filled with a ton of laughs on some nice fish! Launching proved a bit difficult with the new renovations done to Echo Lake, there are these huge boulders near the shore access that were never there before, spaced out in such a way only something narrow can get through, also the water is extremely shallow, nevertheless we were able to get on the lake and fishing was great most of the morning, the fish weren't to picky, typical trout lures were all doing well, wedding rings & rooster tails. I landed two trout my cousin was a bit luckier than me landing three trout and even a few perch to take home! If you don't get on this lake early in the morning be prepared to deal with lots of swimmers sames goes for getting off the lake anytime after noon. This trip was a blast but as usual the bite died down around 10:30 am and we fished until about 2 pm only getting a few hits and no hookups so we called it quits.

Tight Lines!

Serveandcollect, have you target LMB on Echo @ all in the last couple years?
I went out this AM/LMB. The lake is super bassy looking, lillies, down trees, etc. clarity was so/so.. picked up 1 LMB, maybe 1 lb?

We fished together quite a few years ago @ Bitter. Shoot me an email sometime @. Quadradomus@gmail.com

Would be good to swap our current fishing targets.

Hi Chris how you doing. Don't know if you remember me but we also fished one time when you took me out on the sound for some crabbing and flounders. I was lucky enough to be able to rent a house by echo lake. Like literally I can see the beach by my window. But by living there I also witness many LMB came out of that lake. Last year and the past year before that I have no problem hooking to s bass everytime I go out in all sort of size range. I even caught my 3.6 lbs there, but not any more. This year was a different story, I gone out lots of time with my kayak and most of the time skunk. I've seen anglers take home fish over size limit, I even confronted some from my patio. I feel bad for this lake as it get too pressure and over fish, just for the bass though. Perch are still abundant and some hold over trout are still there.
