Haven't been on Sammamish since late June. Quick morning of fishing while my wife ran a virtual run around Issaquah, starting and ending at the boat launch so that I can fish and be her ride. :)

Late start and got on the water at 9AM. Stayed south of the weather buoy and didn't want to go far since I wasn't sure if I'd be fishing in a washing machine. nothing for the first 30 mins. Started finding some larger marks and chased them with my downriggers. Caught 3 chunky cutts between 9:30-10:30. Ran the God's Tooth 50/50 blue and later on a pink wiggle hoochie. Caught fish on both! Fish weighed (after bleeding) in at 2.2lbs, 2lbs, and 1.4lbs. So much fun with kokanee rods.

Got off the water around 10:40 to pick up my wife to start of a fun saturday!

Excellent report and fun read! I am curious: did you put a chunk of worm on the Gods Tooth spoon? It seems like that would kill a lot of the action on the lure.

Tight lines!

Hi Ben & Thanks!

On Sammamish, I'll almost always tip with worms.
From what i've been trying, the action of the God's Tooth seems to be highly dependent on the dodger and leader length. I tend to troll slow (1.0-1.8mph) and sometimes it's not enough for the spoon with the bait but if I have a dodger and right leader length, the kick of the side to side movement from the dodger seems to pull the spoon enough to cause it to wiggle more for that split second. Right after the kick, the spoon goes back into a falling/wobble type of action before being pulled hard again in the opposite direction kick.

That seems to work well for me.
