Well there was the plan and then there was what really happened. The plan was to put in at Porcupine catch our limit of Rainbow and then go upriver hunting Walleye.
What really happened was the Rainbow were spread out much more than the last time we were there and were a little slow about understanding and getting on board with the plan. We picked up 8 there and then dropped down to the confluence and never got a bump so we went down to Sterling Point and found it slow down there also. Eventually we picked up a couple more and called it good for the day as we had a 40 minute run back to Porcupine. We didn't catch anything over 18" but the 16 & 17s were all nice thick fish that made beautiful fillets and it was a nice day to be out after them. The water temperature was still 65+ and we hooked up down at 25 ft. for the most part.
Thinking that if we stick with the same plan one of these days it will work out, kind of like my old shirts from high school coming back into fashion. You just have to be patient.

Mark: Yes patience is the idea. My fishing partner has a sign about 3 feet long inside his boat that says PATIENCE JACKASS PATIENCE. Not to worry. Some days your plan will work out just right. Somedays it won't. Just gotta keep at it. Denny

Oh my you need a plan? I'm in trouble my plan has always been just to catch fish! Guess I need to follow your lead and come up with a "plan". Tight lines friend.

We had a similar plan on the 30th for walleyes on the Arm. We caught 20 and kept 4 but it was a grind. That full moon didn't help.

Sometimes we get to enjoy the scenery instead of hammering fish, those days are good too. You got both, so I'd say that's a WIN. :-)

Heater install underway in our boat so I just get to look at it sit in my shop but I will be happy with forced air dry heat and defrosters this winter!
