Took two days off to try Lake Lenore again for lahonthan cutthroat trout. Drove over weds am left home 3:40am got to lake by 7:10am..windy was forecast 9-10 mph am then after 10am 13-15mph..it was blowing fished from shore with mepps spinners, daredevil spoon and other trout lures ..water was very green and murky been that way last three times there since April 2015 and November 2018. Couldn't see the bottom in boat and to windy to be out first day. Tried north end, middle and south end casting zip. No bites no fish rising and no following the lure. Next day Thu was calmer launched my small boat on south end in sun..was cool 35f in am and 7-8 mph winds with rollers ..stayed at south end catching grass and nothing else... couldn't see the bottom even in 3-4 ft of water. Wind died down so trolled up to normal spots around islands and shore.. didn't see any fish rising or any fish following the lure...no bumps at all. Quit at 2pm. Ran into to fish biologists asked how I did said zip. I mentioned last three times four days fishing only got one fish in 2018. It used to be a lot better in late 80's thru early 2000's 4-5 fish and 8-10 bites each day out.
They said well we stocked 70,000 fish each year... didn't ask what size. Didn't see anyone else fishing in two days..locals used to come by catch one and go home. May have been slow week but seems to be normal here now.

Still beat working and fall colors were great on way home past Leavenworth to Marysville on hwy 2.

I grew up fishing that lake as a kid. We had a trailer at blue lake and the fishing has slowed way down the last fifteen years not sure why. We used to do pretty good in July when it opened for keepers. Used to troll orange/gold spoons. Crocodile worked great too. Sounds like you did everything right just not great in the fall. Thanks for the report brought back memories!

I forgot to check best days to fish before I took days off .it was low cycle. I have had luck with Crocodile spoon there too. Best day caught 9 in 1990. 21"-15". I will try it again water isn't very clear anymore very green with particles in water.

Thanks for the report. I fished Lenore (fly fishing both streamers and chironomids) at the end of October with the same result Water very green and cloudy and no fish showing at either the south or north ends of the lake. We only fished for a few hours and then headed to Rocky Ford.

I enjoyed reading through your reports over the past few years James Have you been fishing in 2021? .Appreciate all the useful details about what you used, what you caught, conditions, etc. Look like you have been fishing this area a loooooong time. Lived in Seattle in the 70'2-80's, fished mostly for salmon when there were still salmon. Moved to Micronesia for 14 yrs, then 17 yrs in Colorado. Moved back & reconnected with a friend from 40 yrs ago who is trying to learn to fish so he go with his grandkids. We both live near silver lake, so we'd like to try some of the lakes & streams in snohomish, skagit & king counties but we're the blind leading the blind trying to learn from youtube. Thought we'd try to learn bass fishing since it's kinda warm for trout, but we'd be happy to catch anything; just need to learn the basics. Would love to meet to buy you coffee of lunch some time & pick your brain. Or, better yet, have you take us with you to show us!
