I havent had the chance to go razor clamming in Washington the past couple years. I decided to try a night dig for the first time. My buddy J.P. came along for his first ever clam dig. The clam guns got loaded into the rig and we headed to Copalis beach. We arrived just after dark got our gear together and started walking toward the beach with excitment. I did not see any clams showing in the water so we went a little higher on the beach and saw those familiar circular depressions in the sand and got to digging. It took us about 20 minutes for both of us to limit out and also reminded us how out of shape we are! lol. We headed back toward Olyimpia, cleaned clams. I made a delicious clam chowder with some of the clams the next day. I hope the domoic acid levels drop so we can make another trip soon!
