Went out to Lake Chelan after school a few weeks ago to target some big smallies. I don't have a boat, but there are a few spot's that you can consistently catch smallies throughout the summer-fall from shore. I got to the dock's, tied on my favorite swimbait on an underspin head and started casting around. I had 2 quality bites, but only one stuck, and it was a monster northern pikeminnow! 21 inches and 3.45 lbs! Not my biggest but still a chunk. I did see a few good size smallies cruising under the docks, but could only get the pike minnow to bite. Put up a great fight.
