Lake Roosevelt, the Spokane Arm, Porcupine Bay! What a place! We are so blessed to have such a place to go . I gave it a 4 rather than a 5 because right towards the end a little breeze came up across the back of the boat and when I finished filleting my hands hurt so bad I couldn't hardly pick a fish up anymore. Launched at Porcupine a little after 9 and got the lines out for 3 rods and 10 minutes into the troll boated the first fish. So by some standards you could say it was a slow start. Was sort of stunned that we didn't get one before the 3rd rod was set. Some of us jut have an attitude I guess. Got the first fish on some new fly that hooked me over at the Black Sheep. Our first 2 fish were a double so maybe that makes up for the slow start. There goes that attitude again. Wasn't till the 4th fish in the boat that my little ole beat up, bent hook Orange Kekeda came out of the gate but then it was like Seabiscuit reeling in the field. Larry was running a Perch Kekeda and trying some dodgers and may have had the most hits of a single rod but as is his fashion a bunch didn't stick. Think he just likes to see his rod go off without having to bother and get up and reel them in, doesn't like to get his hands cold. Had 10 in the boat by 2:30 and netted another one just bringing the rods in. Safely released it. The message here is we had some fun. The weather was better than expected, almost no wind although the temperature dropped in the afternoon. Leaded line on all 3 rods, 50 feet of leader, 3 colors in the water, 3 mph. What can I say, it was good.
Stay after them, it's the right thing to do.
Oh and don't let the quick disconnect on your washdown pump freeze up. It can get expensive.

Sounds like an awesome day! I was wondering if the trout were biting in the Arm.

Mark-You make me snicker when I read your posts. Way to go on the fish. You seem to really like that Porkey Pine Bay Area. I may have to give it a go sometime. We still hope to get over there as soon as the weather cooperates. Possibly Sprague as well. Take care. Hope you have many more successful days out there. Denny

And here I was crawling around under my wife's car diagnosing what ended up being new axle shafts. Priorities right?

Mark I swear those Kekedas fish better the more torn and beat up they get. I fished the same orange Kekeda 3 days in a row, bent hooks even and it was hooking them just like the first day.

Awesome report and glad you guys had a good day. Thanks for your report. :-)

Been having more luck with the small ones than the big ones recently, how about you?

Haven't tried the smaller ones yet. Not sure what I'd do if they worked better than the standard ones!

Sounds like these are the fish being released in the Spokane Arm from the Little Falls facility and anglers are finally targeting them.
