Took my dad out on the Spokane arm for trout. Lines in the water around 9:30. Only had one fish by 10:30 so we moved.
Found an area where there was some strange feed on top. (perhaps zooplankton) which attracted fish. It then got very busy and we quickly got our limits. We debarbed and proceeded to try to get some kokanee. No luck there. Zero kokes. But because it was such a profound number of bows, and the ole man had a blast, I'll give it a 5.

Been some really nice Autumn days on the water, hope yal can take advantage.
Tight lines!

Glad to hear you had a good day with your dad. Time well spent. Nice to see those 20+ fish. I guess by the uniformity of size (16-17) for the majority of fish it must mean they were all from the same release. Nice to see those bigger ones. I have boated a lot fish since my last 23+ fish. Talked to a Tribal fish counter that said the planted hybrids only have a 2 1/2 to 3 year life span, maybe that has something to do with fewer big fish. I haven't caught near as many wild fish this season as I have the last couple. All I can say is Hmmmm.

That zooplankton is Daphnia, or water fleas. They are a major dietary component of trout diet and Kokanee too.
