I thought the week prior was tough. Launched on Friday out of Porky with my buddy Mike. We fished from buoy 1 to well past buoy 5. Three hours later we still hadn't had a bite. I finally found a place upriver that held two active walleyes. I caught a 16 incher and Mike caught a 17 incher. I also caught and releases a nice 20-21 inch rainbow. All three were caught on jigs. Throughout the day we threw jigs, blade baits and a jigging rap. It was getting to the point where I felt like one more cast and my arm would fall off. The last place we tried was the main river channel near buoy 1. I used the .2 mph current to slowly drift down stream while vertically jigging a black 1/2 oz. jig and swimbait combo. I had a lot of really small dink hits but managed to boat 5 smalleyes and one burbot. Total was 7 eyes, 1 slimer and 1 burbot. We fished in 8 FOW to 73 FOW. At least the WX was nice.

You have to have a A for effort going from above B5 back to the main river, I've done that in the summer but not in the Winter. You didn't do something wild and crazy like buy a new hat or something? My money says you'll find them.
Stay after them, it's the right thing to do.

I'm a glutton for punishment. I will be back out on the Arm; at least till the end of the year and then I will move out to the main Columbia.
