Spent our Christmas morning on the ice at Curlew Lake. The ice between the state park and Wiseman Island is 5.5-6" and looks great. It gets considerably thinner east and north of the island. Normally Curlew is a perch extravaganza but we had to work for our 9 fish in 4 hours of fishing and we hampered considerably by wandering school of Rainbow Trout that were thick as thieves this year. Still a beautiful day on the ice even if I was a little grumpied by the annoying trout.
