The ice is safe at Curlew although not nearly as thick as it would be in a typical year. Its all about finding a school so if you drill a hole and don't find fish within 10 minutes move on and a distance of 20' can make the difference between a handful of fish and 100's. I've been finding fish primarily in 30-35' of water.
