2021 started with my boat motor getting the lower unit serviced and a 20 hour service for my kicker,then we had a lot of wind and rain for several days. I noticed we were supposed to have a break from the rain and some nice weather. I decided it's time to get the first fishing trip of 2021 in the books, I was also excited to try out my new edge downrigger rod. I went to one of my favorite local lakes and it was a gorgeous day to be outdoors. We started trolling with KCP's, crankbaits, and a trolling fly that normally do the trick at Offutt lake. Today the fish wanted nothing to do with my first offering of lures. I tried varying speed and depths from the surface down to 18ft with no real sucess.

I decided to put an orange god's tooth spoon on with no dodger. This seemed to be the ticket as we started hooking a few at 15ft on the wire. Oddly enough the only action came on the new rod.
It was a slow day but it was a great day spent on the water with a good friend. I'm looking forward to my next trip soon. Tight lines! Hope you enjoy the video!
