My buddy Glenn and I launched out of Porcupine Bay and spent the morning trolling smile blades on some of the main Bay flats. We keyed in on flats that had gravel patches in 25 to 50 FOW. Green, silver and chartreuse produced best. We caught 50 or so and had 26 in my livewell. We then headed upriver to another spot where we jigged up another eleven between 17 and 21 inches. This allowed us to upgrade a couple of eyes and finish the day with 32.

The wind wasn't that bad actually. I had no problem trolling at the speed I wanted; I thought it would be much worse.

Also no trout were harmed in the catching of these walleyes. We didn't catch any.

Mark, when bottom walking were you using slow death or double hook rigs?

appreciate all the reports and hope to be nearly as productive as you some day

Peter; I was using a slow death hook with half a nightcrawler. I rarely use a full nightcrawler as I find it just leads to half a worm being stolen; that's just me but I have caught some very nice double digit eyes on just half a nightcrawler. Also, a lot of our bites were just fish holding on and swimming along with the boat. We had to pay attention to our rods just slowly loading up and when that happened I just quickly started to reel in order to set the hook. We caught fish trolling as slow .5 to .8. They definitely wanted a slow presentation on Sunday.

Forgive my ignorance. The Spokane Arm limit is 16 per person ? Nice looking fish . Thank you for your reports . They help me tremendously.

I remember fishing for years at Ft Spokane with nobody around, very secluded, lots of fish to catch and nobody around to share it with. Now the parking lots are full and lots of boats everywhere to talk with and fishing real close too. Very fun competition. Thank you Mark for helping lots and lots of people enjoy this paradise. Giving locations lure colors etc has been beneficial for many many many people. Great job!

I just give general suggestions. Everyday is different on the water. One day chartreuse is the best color the next day it's something else. Based on the people I talk to at the ramp and their lack of success, there are a lot of new walleye fishermen. If I can give them suggestions to help them catch some eyes, then why wouldn't I. The only reason my buddies and I have some success is because we fish Roosevelt year round and mostly have a pretty good idea of where to look depending on the time of year.

Ya that’s what I’m saying how else will all these people know about this hidden gem if we don’t post it on social media and tell everyone to come on down and partake.

Nice action Mark, thank you as always for sharing. Looks like it's picking up as these temps rise and stabilize. Tight Lines..
