Sammamish has been tough lately. A fish here and a fish there. Mostly skinny cutties in the 15"+/- range. Water temp has been cold and fish have generally been sluggish and reluctant to bite. Thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
The fish gods finally smiled on us. Tuesday, catching was good. Put some nice fish in the box. Definitely still not what I would call red hot. The good news is the smolt released from the hatchery are starting to appear at the mouth of Issaquah Creek and the water temp has risen to 50 degrees +/-. Fishing should definitely improve in the next week or so.
What worked today was a little outside the box. Tandem Flashyfish/Dick Nite spoons with a piece of shrimp, 20 inch leader behind a flasher. 100-150 back and about 20 feet down on the rigger, 1.75 mph. Off the mouth of Issaquah Creek. I think anything resembling a smolt should work in the next couple weeks, Flashyfish, Dick Nites, Needlefish or whatever ya got. Just my opinion. Just because it worked today is no guarantee it will work tomorrow.
Tight lines
Randy
