Took my kayak out in the late afternoon; around 5 pm. Had a real hard time getting fish to bite. It seemed like a slow afternoon for the bank fishermen as well. Started out trolling Elgin gods tooth spoons behind a 4 inch moon jelly dodger and that would get a bite every 30 minutes. Switched to green woolie buggers 12 inches from the same dodger and I would get hit every 20ish minutes, trolling at around 1.6 mph.
I marked a lot of fish at about 5-6 feet down with the main depth of the lake being around 14 ft; if you are fishing from the dock I would try fish a really long leader; think 10 ft.
Overall it was a pretty nice experience. Super sunny and calm, even though I only came away with 2 fish.
