Hit the lake early since it was on a weekend. Had to get there before the launch got clogged. Also wanted to leave without having to wait. First on the lake is always neat. Had a perch pattern God’s Tooth Spoon on one rod and 50:50 brass nickel on the other. Top lined 150 pulls back both. Started with tuna corn and within a few minutes it was fish on! Had another and then a double with the Sun just barely coming up. Both poles had equal action. A easy limit was in reach I thought.
I don’t know what happened but after those short moments, no action for a while. Then the question became what do I change? Decided on an old skateboard type dodger with moon jelly tape and a pink wedding ring. Got two on that. Kept running the 50:50 God’s Tooth and picked up a few more. Switched out the pink wedding ring since it cooled off for a spin n glo Orange and chrome with matching dodger to close out a limit on another double. Done at 8:30.
With the wind blowing it was hard to troll slow. Fortunately the fish wanted a faster presentation today with 1.3 mph or faster getting bites. Seemed like 1.5 mph was the sweet spot. No particular hot area on the lake. Tight lines everyone.
