On the third day of our trip to the eastside the wind finally settled down . We decided that we should try lake Roosevelt for kokanee and trout. We launched early in the morning from spring canyon and headed east. The water temp was 37 degrees and warmed up to 40 later in the day. We focused on the top twenty feet of water fishing. We had a total of 3 opportunities and fished till 5 PM. All our action came in a shallow bay. We hit some kokanee silver around 3 in the afternoon 19ft on the wire. Lonzo boated his personal best making it worth the effort. Upon returning to the ramp we spoke with a couple other local kokanee fishermen who went the whole day without a bite which made me feel fortunate for the 3 opportunities we were given. I'm looking forwatd to a return trip this summer. Tight lines!
