Hit Lake Meridian right after work looking to get on some Bass and well, I DID! Worked my way around the public docks with no bites, then headed back toward the public fishing boat launch area and worked my way dock hopping towards the opposite end of the lake. After about a dozen or so casts I had my first hook-up, id say 3-3.5 pound smallie was the first to fall for the Plastic Tube JiG, released for another day. Coupled of docks later Another Tug and BAM Fish ON! this one felt a little better and id say it was close to the same length as the first but for sure a lot more girthy with a thicker back Solid muscle on that fish, released safely. 45 minutes pass and the third Smallie was hooked on, smaller than the last two but fought just as the same! pretty interesting that no Largies were caught this day but the smallies were out and about! Love fighting these beautiful fish especially in 10 plus feet of water. Stopped fishing once I reached the opposite side of the lake from the public boat launch area and saved the other half of the lake for another day! What a great way to start the summer !
