The area of this report is for Long Lake (They didn't have a specific option.

Now that long lake is at 11k ct/s flow I headed down to the river to try planner board fishing from shore. I do this on shore or in my waders. Fish rocky flats from 2 to 15 ft deep. I use floating, shallow to medium diving plugs like thundersticks, rapalas, etc. Last night purple Thindersticks and "live bait" plugs. Fished lastnight from 8 to 930pm and this morning from 5am to 8am. Caught 3, lost 4 others.....22, 25, 26 inches. Then I saw the coolest thing ever. 5 ft from shore I saw a big female being mobbed by 3 males. She seemed annoyed and tried to get away by rising up only for the males to reposition and all 4 fish rose out of the water. I wish I had my net in my hand! Anyway I do this every evening for the next month. Last year I filled my freezer (off males only). I am convinced this is one of the best chances you will ever have of catching walleye from shore consistently.
