Watched the weather closely and saw this was our opportunity to get low some low wind speeds so we made the call to try. I had been up there the previous weekend for my wife’s bday and we took the Lady of the Lake to Stehekin. When we launched from Chelan there were lots of boats fishing close to Chelan. We camped at the State Park and launched at 5:00am. Started out hot with the Old Goats in pink and the new 2.14” orange/pink. We managed 8 fish quick and then it slowed. We made the change to Kokabow squids and quickly changed our fortune around and limited out by 9:30am. We had a guide boat pull up to us and ask how deep and what we were using. My brother-in-law turned to me and shook my hand and said “We just had a guide ask us what we were using!” I had to smile. Caught one 15.5” fish and quite a few 13-14” fish. Returned to the campground and we had a shore lunch of fresh kokes! Nothing better.
