Went out to area 7 for the lingcod opener. Unfortunately the tides were not in our favor for opening day. We went anyway and had a great time. We fished around Blakley island and a couple other spots. We caught a variety of rock fish hunting for a keeper ling. We ended up catching 6 lings in total but all undersized and released. We only managed to catch one kelp greenling which became a nice snack. Seems most people forget that a greenling is related to a lingcod and they make great table fair, not just lingcod bait. Lol.
