First day out on American Lake this year. Beautiful sunny day. Breezy north wind. out for about 1 1/2 hrs 10:30 to 12. Fished just south of Russell Landing off of my boat. anchored. Tightline fishing with pink Gulp, by Powerbait. Tried in deeper water, 30 feet or more. Nothing. Turned around and fished in shallower water. I would guess is 20 feet. Caught 2 nice Rainbows about 20 min apart. a 12 inch and a 13 inch. Water is still very cold, so they seem to have moved into shallower water. Considering I caught only 2 trout all summer in 2021, this looks good.
