Worked hard in the morning loading shipping crates to send overseas for some friends. Then went fishing briefly. A great day all around, especially when I boat the most fish. (And probably lost the most too.)We lost a good number of fish.) Almost perfect weather, except a bit windy with almost a 12mph wind non-stop. Air temp 68, water temp 62 and partly sunny.
Fished 1:00-3:30pm with only a couple of other boats on the lake with us. Pretty quiet all around in the Park. Ran a modified Trout Troll and almost immediately had a hit and lost it. In just a few minutes I boated the first trout, followed by a few more that didn't button up. It was so nice to be fishing mid week, that I didn't even get upset when one trout got wrapped around the rear motor and came off, and K was helping take off another trout. It was laying near the gunnel in the net as I watch it twitch and slither right out of the net and over the side like a snake. About the same time I looked down and thought we were over a cabbage bed with leaves near the surface, but when I looked again it was a large school of young bass. Sweet. Love to see them.
No tree or shore hang-ups, an easy hot dog lunch from the barbecue, and spent a short time plugging with a few small bass boated. K had one of his biggest High Roller top water lures taken by a tiny bass. Fun aggressive creatures. Thought we'd get back on the Trout Troll since we knew where they were. Marked lots of fish all afternoon. I could tell I was getting pretty wind burned, so I figured it was time to wrap up, especially since I was in the lead. Ended a fun afternoon with P, 2. trout, 3 bass, K. 2 trout and 3 bass. Me, limited at 5 trout, 2 bass. Wish we didn't have to go to work tomorrow.
