Went to Rock lake again. This is my favorite time I think to fish this lake. Beautiful day, warm upper 50s-to 60s. Water temp was 42-44F. Sunny with very light breeze 5-7mph. Water was slightly murky with some floaty stuff coming up, I don't know if it has or is about to turn? I was at the launch a 9am and had caught my last fish by 10:30am. I launched and motored to just north of the little house north of the launch on the west side of the lake. I drop lines and head for the pinnacles on the west side of the lake. Primarily sticking from center to within 100' of the shore line. I was using Macks pee wee wiggle hoochie's one in green and one in orange pulled behind small dodgers with 18-24" leader. I was fishing 8-12 feet deep in anywhere from 60-120ft depth. Speed was 1.4-1.6 mph on hookups. Lures tipped with worm and no scent used this trip.
This has become my go-too setup for this lake, if there are no waves a little boat rock or "S" turn every once in a while will trigger a strike. On this trip I hooked 2 doubles in a row and caught my last fish all within a mile stretch, I had a few short strikes, both colors were producing well. the largest fish was 15.5" and 1.54LB, no monsters but very good eating size for certain.
As a cautionary note I saw someone grind their prop down at the launch. This is not a good place to learn how to launch a boat, best practice in a safer area or be prepared to spend some money on repairs.
