Day 1 of our littel getaway for mothers day and our 44th wedding anniversary trip:

Really missed making the trip over the mountains last year to fish one of my favorite lakes so after arriving late Sunday afternoon and checking into the Mountain View lodge got the Tin Cup ready to roll out Monday morning! Now my wife not really that excited about fishing but she grew up in this area and hadn't really been out in a boat on the lake since she was in her teens so first day was more for her to get to enjoy the experience. Let her sleep in so as I anxously waited for her to get ready we finally put the boat in around 9am and headed down to Rocky Point to start our troll down to find some schools.

Put out both downriggers and ran one lead core straight out the back of the boat starting set up an orange wiggle hootchie with Paulina peak dodger on the lead core, a yakima bait pink purple hootchie on one rigger and a brad's mini cut plug on another. Didn't finally find the schools until we hit the red roof condos in about 75 FOW and then it was lights out as we had 2 doubles working the area between red roofs and blue roofs from 75-100 FOW. They are hugging the bottom so just get your gear through them as we didn't get a bump on the lead core. We did get a nice one almost 16" and that was enough for her as she just wanted to get some for dinner.

Headed back to the launch around 11:30 and then spent the rest of the day driving around Manson enjoying the sites with a stop at The Blueberry HIll restaurant for some pie and muffins! Had a nice kokanee meal back at the lodge and enjoyed meeting a sponser for Kokabow that was staying there so we shared some intel and both planned on hitting the water early on Tuesday so exchanged numbers for our time out on the water Tuesday!
