Starting to get a handle on these Walleye. I spent the weekend at my buddies place in Gifford and only fished a couple hours 2 days. I was looking at property the rest of the time and put in an offer on 40 acres in Gifford. 5 minutes from the Gifford launch!
I used bottom bouncers and hunted around various depths and first found fish at about 40ft . Mostly smaller fish but actually caught a couple large females that had not spawned?!?!? I was shocked to see that but I am not really knowledgeable on this area or walleye in general for that matter. We caught a couple nice burbot as well. Very few boats and it was hot!
Ended up with a total of 12 walleye and 3 burbot for the weekend. Met a couple locals who gave me some good info and I will be spending a lot more time up here soon learning this fishery. A few guys were catching nice pike in the area.

That away nwbhoss!!!! Nice pictures and nice catch, I love trolling for walleye in Lake Roosevelt, did you catch those burbot while trolling? I have but usually get them jigging. Any specifics on color, did you use smiley blades and slowdeath or spinners and a double hook setup?Well as always "Tight Lines and Keep Reelin!!! The "Gator"

Thanks Gator I was trolling with bottom bouncers using slow death hooks and smiley blades of various colors. We changed up gear a lot and depths so no specific colors. The burbot were caught with the same gear.

Yes I was unaware they were in the lake but I am very new to fishing these waters. I was told by a local that they are feeding on recently released stock trout
