First night fish trip to Loon this year. Arrived with my brother inlaw and anchored in 34 feet of water next to my nephew and his family.
Lights on, jigs and glow hooks changed up baited with maggots and shoepeg corn. They like the corn cured pink with anise/krill scent at Loon. Sent quickly to bottom and up one crank. Now for a bite....
Missed the first one, dang corn is gone; consumate bait thieves! Wow slow bite took till 11 pm to get the first ones in the boat.
Such a beautiful night, cool breezes and pleasant temperatures after all of the hot weather we have had. Fish here and there; slow going would be an understatement! Finally gave up at 2AM with 9 in the boat. Fish are fat and between 11 and 12 inches.
Evening was capped off by a tremendous view of the stars while motoring slowly back to the dock. Life is good!
