The wind and small craft advisories finally allowed for the shrimping trip on Saturday after scuttling it on Friday. Launched out of Cornet bay and headed over to find a spot to drop the crab pots, found a nice bay with a few other pots and dropped them stuffed with a combo of chicken (soaked in Procure), salmon, and tuna carcass.
With crab pots soaking we headed to Iceberg point and joined the rest of the shrimping fleet, dropping our pots spread across the zone. They soaked for a little over an hour with Friskies and pellets (also soaked in Procure). We were generously rewarded with too many very large shrimp, we had to throw back at least a full limit with just one soak! Makes up for my earlier trip when we barely scraped out half a limit all day.
Headed back to check the crab pots and we were rewarded there as well with 9 keepers, two just under 6.25" or it would have been limits of shrimp and crab. All by 11:30!
