It was a VERY weird day to say the least! I had to take at least the one star off the day just because of all the mishaps.

We launched at 4:10am to a full moon and gusty winds from the north. About 10 minutes after we lauched,, the engine alarm went off and we lost power. It looks like the impeller motor for the main engine fried so we were left with only our kicker. Because we knew the tides and time were going to be outrageous, we decided to limp over to our waypoint off Possession Point with the tide and ride the tide back after 11:30 (slack tide). Unbelievably, from 4:30 to almost 11am, we caught nothing, but kept at it. We broke a downrigger pole-holder and the pole went over the side with it but fortunately, the clip was still attached to the downrigger cable, so we were able to recover it! We also broke a pole!

We had the first one to the boat just after 11am, then it was Fish-On for the next three hours. We had a total of EIGHTEEN fish to the boat, in the net! Two small kings we tossed back, 4 decent sized kings, but all natives, 1 king that had a clipped fin but was only 21 inches long, so we tossed that one back, 11 silvers but only one very small one with a clipped fin! So all that work and loss for a small silver! On the way back one of the bigger kings we caught (the one in the photo) right off the East side of Possession Point, we knocked the cover to our downrigger into the water and lost that as well.
We limped back in with only 1 small fish in the cooler but it was a very active day overall.

GAHH!!! sometimes The God's just aren't on your side!
