I am back in the state visiting this week and had a couple opportunities to fish. First I took my boys hiking to the Baker river and couldn't find any fish in the river. I then tried fishing a cove on the lake for a bit but there were only babies there. So tonight I drove up to Diablo lake and got there around 7:30. Small fish started jumping around 8:00pm, but there were one or two good sized fish I heard or saw tonight. I had equipment problems with my raft, reel and line so I missed a lot of opportunities, but still managed to boat a couple fish, one was about 13 inches. I could have caught a lot more with working equipment. If you are in the area I would recommend trying this lake, but only if you can fish late or maybe very early.
