Possession bar was fast and furious today. We arrived at the west bar about 7:45am and dropped the first line to 77ft on the wire in 174 ft of water. I turned away to set the next line and out of the corner of my saw the first rod bouncing hard. After several line peeling runs my buddy worked the fish toward the boat and it surfaced long enough to see that it was a a large Chinook. After another run he got it near the boat at which time it came unbuttoned and swam away, avoiding the stress of being netted.
That quick takedown set the tone of the morning as with every drop of the downrigger, within a few minutes there was a fish hooked up. By 8:55 we kept our four fish, all nice sized pinks and were done for the day.
All the hookups were at 60 to 80 feet on the wire in depths ranging from 180 to 80 FOW on flasher and squid w/herring srrips (as pictured).

You need to refresh your salmon identifications. Three of these "pinks" are coho. Compare the scale sizes, in the photo showing all four, the first, third and fourth from the bottom have large scales while the second from the bottom has small scales, thus is the only pink shown. Could be embarrassing if you are checked with pinks that are actually wild coho.

They sure look like pinks to me. It never hurts to double check the WDFW fish id sheet though.

The fish with the club next to it certainly is not a pink! Looks like a Blackmouth. 33 years of salmon trolling commercially gives me that knowledge.

20 years commercial fishing. 100% agree, club fish is not a pink.
