First chance to get out after catching covid. Yes. I did get vaccinated last spring. Launched solo out of Porcupine Bay and headed upriver at first light. I spent hours jigging deep and shallow and caught about 10 dinks. I then trolled crankbaits on leadcore, first time, as well as bottom bouncers and smile blades. Picked up about 10 more eyes and half a dozen dink smallies. At this point it was early afternoon and I would have rated the day as a 3. The last spot I tried was a deep hole near buoy 1. I tied on a fire tiger jigging rap and after a couple of casts I located a school of smalleyes. Granted they were mostly dinks, but I finished the day by catching 20 on 20 casts. I probably could have continued catching them but I thought 20 in a row was a good way to end the day. I only caught and released one 16 incher so nothing worth taking a picture of.
