Fished the Columbia between Keller and Spring Canyon. Was pursuing kokanee but was denied. The trout angling didn't disappoint however.
Caught 3 jumbo smallmouth to start the day (all over 3 lbs) before I decided to relocate. Saw some fish jumping so I mosied on through trolling the upper 20 feet of water and started getting action. Caught 13 fish before the area went dead. I decided to take my kokanee pursuits to another location where I continued to catch good numbers of quality trout for the last few hours of the day. I didn't succeed in landing any kokanees but ended the day with a limit of quality planter rainbows and catching and releasing some nice native fish which comprised around 1/5 of the couple dozen I caught.
I'll rate the day a 4 because the action was good, the quality was good (avg. around 18") and the weather was absolutely perfect, dead calm and quiet.
