Went out with a friend to the 291 boat launch and fished the Bouy line down to the little Spokane confluence. For those of you that haven't fished this area you should know that even when the current is slow..... It's still pretty damn fast and hard to maintain control. Luckily my buddy had a nice Duckworth with remote control steering. You really have to know the territory you're trolling through because you can go from 20 ft to 5 ft deep in a matter of seconds. After a few runs I took over. It was my first time steering a boat in about 20 years like this. After almost running into a dead tree in the water I got to hang of it and got it settled in.

We fished anywhere from 12:00 to 18 ft working the main channel from the buoys to just below the confluence. After we dialed in the bites we started making loops after the first group of buoys upstream from the confluence and then circling back after that giant flat to the left of the confluence just downstream.

We caught three fish in two hours. The last fish was 9.9 lb and 29 in. He slammed it so hard we thought the bait got stuck on bottom. After all we had just come off of a 7 ft deep flat. The other two fish were 23 in and 19 in. We finished fishing after 3 hours.

What Worked:
Deeper diving plugs
Main channel
3mph downstream, 2.3 upstream.

What didn't work:
Shad raps
Working the side flats
