Well it's been a while since I posted a report so I thought I'm due for one. Fished Riffe Lake yesterday afternoon starting at around 11:30 am. While I was putting my boat in the water, a really nice kayaker who was coming in (hey Tom!) gave me some info and some leftover salad shrimp. He said that he had had pretty good success and pointed out some areas to try. I was mostly there to try out my new 135 Ah LifePO4 battery. I was amazed at how much better these batteries perform over a lead acid battery. I ran my motor hard for 6 hrs. and when I got home, the charger showed that it was still fully charged and only required the optimization cycle! No more heavy lead acid batteries for this old fisherman!
Anyway it was a beautiful afternoon out on the lake. I managed to land about 8 landlocked silvers, all between 10 and 16 inches. The lake was a bit more crowded than expected, but with the water conditions so nice and the weather being like it was I really shouldn't have been surprised. Good time to hit this lake if you can get there during the week, shouldn't have any trouble finding fish.
