Had a chance to make the drive from Walla Walla to Porcupine Bay for spring break, as I do almost every year. Hear the water clarity was 1-3 ft last week but clearing up. I'd say there was about 3-5ft visibility while I was up there. I focus on only three areas. I fished the area just before the narrows in 30-50 fow up and down the drop off there and probably caught 5 or 6 there the first day and 2 the next day with bottom bouncers and slow death hook with glow scale and chartreuse smile blades. The next area I tried was the flat and drop off just around the corner from Blue Creek and caught 2 there on day two before making a move. By far the best area I caught fish was right at the upper end of the narrows in the last mile or so before the water just opens up into the wide area near Buoy 1. I probably caught 5 nice fish here on day 1 including a nice 25 inch hen that was released. In the same area on day two I caught about 7 or 8 here. This was all in 35 to 55 Dow. For the two days total I caught about 25 fish and kept 7 fish each day from 16 to 21 inches but realeased quite a few just at 15. I caught a couple bass as well and only two dinks around 12 inches. I only caught two fish jigging, probably because I'm still learning and I get impatient, and caught most fish trolling.
