Another great trip out to chelan in the books. Got to play around from 12th - 15th. Fishing should only get better. Haven’t been there in a while and it’s the transition period when fish start to move to the lower basin. Got fish from just above the narrows, state park, the boulders, and red roofs. If I had to pick again where to fish, it would be out by the red roofs. They aren’t super thick yet but more than enough to go around. Lower basin is also where there seemed to be more fish. There was a lot of scouting this trip since I’ve never be out there this time of year. I didn’t try out by the blue roofs or Manson bay, however I’m sure they are around. I did try by greens landing without a bite.

Time also played a big part in the bite. Mornings seemed like higher activity than afternoons. There is a decent afternoon bite and the benefit is there’s none else out. Harder to find the fish and hits came in spurts. Once I ran into fish it was usual to double up. Keep an eye on your finder and when fish start popping up, adjust gear accordingly.

Depth was all over the place. In shallower areas ~70 ft they seemed to be near the bottom with 50ft on the rigger being the sweet spot. Droppers also worked well in those depths. Out in deeper water 80ft worked well.

Used everything from gods tooth spoons, hoochies, and wedding rings with good success. Tuna corn in natural and pink worked well along with pink maggots. Used arrow flash, ppt, and brads dodger all with varying colors. Got more hits with pink colors in the morning and chartreuse in the afternoons.

Last but not least was trolling speed with 1.4 mph getting more fish to commit. Tried to roll with the wind most of the time to keep things simple. Easier to keep the boat on track in my opinion.
