My son started about 8am. I had an appointment at 9am so I came afterward around 9:30. He already had 2 trout. As soon as I got onboard the catching slowed way down. We stuck it out until 1pm as it started to rain. It was pretty nice and calm up until then. The water temperature was 53.
We went all over the lake. Fishing mostly 2 rods on the downriggers from 8 to 15 feet. 2 rods were longlined with about 1/4oz weight. All four were productive. We tried to keep our speed at 1.2 to 1.4 mpg.

Since I wasn’t getting bites, at the beginning, I figured I was stinky therefore, I had my son bait my hooks and that is when I got fish. Until my hands were slimy and bloody then I baited my own. We used worms, corn, and sometimes Berkley maggots. I didn’t get my first fish until 11:40.
We thought we had 10 but when I got home to clean them, we had 9 trout 13-15.5 inches.

Nice couple of days, for the fishing, not for the weather. 53* for the water temp. WOW, that's still really cold.

Thanks for the great report Toni. Way to stick it out. Ya, the weather has been spotty to say the least. That’s a real nice stringer. Hope we bump into each other soon. Tight lines till then.
